Frequently asked questions
Any day you design with an agent in pen.dev counts as one day, whether the agent is inside pen.dev or connected through MCP, like Claude Code. MCP tool calls are unlimited on those days, and days you don’t use an agent don’t count. Free includes 5 days per month designing with an agent. Pro and Ultra let you design with agents every day. Model credits and image and SVG generation have separate allowances.
Yes. pen.dev works with your own agents on every plan, using your own subscriptions or API keys. Your plan’s days designing with an agent apply whether you work inside pen.dev or connect through another tool. Your provider’s billing and usage limits still apply, and using your own provider does not spend your included credits for hosted AI models.
Hosted AI models are ready to use directly in pen.dev, without a separate model subscription or API key. Available models include MiniMax, GLM, Qwen, and DeepSeek. Free includes limited usage, Pro includes model credits, and Ultra offers extended usage with more credits. You can also connect your own agent subscription or API key on any plan.
Model credits cover usage of hosted AI models in pen.dev. How much you use depends on the model and the size and complexity of your task. Your included allowance refreshes each billing period. These credits are separate from MCP tool calls and image and SVG generation allowances, so unlimited MCP calls don’t mean unlimited model usage.
Each agent works on its own task at the same time as the others. You can have one agent build a screen, another explore an alternative direction, and a third clean up components, without waiting for any of them to finish. Free runs 1 agent at a time, Pro runs up to 3, and Ultra runs up to 6.
Yes. Pro is billed per user, and you can add teammates to your organization and manage their roles in settings.
Ultra includes everything in Pro, with extended usage and more credits for hosted AI models, more image and SVG generation, up to 6 agents working in parallel, and credits shared across your organization.
